COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is voluntary and available for any student to achieve the desired educational objectives (certification) and/or Continuing Education Units for Hypnotherapists from this program.
This course is a ten week program and provides 50+ Continuing Education Unit hours of training, a passing grade in a Final Review, and a Certificate of Completion upon a demonstration of qualifying skills in what you have learned. This course also includes basic training in hypnosis techniques and modalities.  It is the objective of this school that you are a qualified, educated, trained. professional hypnotherapist who will be self-employed, or utilizing this training as ancillary to a current profession, or for personal informational use upon completion of this course. The instruction offered leads to the achievement of the learning objectives of this course. PLEASE NOTE: Your homework for each week’s class will be reviewed and graded by the instructor or director and you will receive a critique and coaching, if needed, on your accomplishments. All courses meet once weekly with specific course subject and content to teach you new modalities and techniques and information that is discussed and demonstrated for proficiency by the student in the following week. Each student is paired with a classmate and given feedback by the classmate as to his/her proficiency as well as being observed by the instructor. The instructor will critique each student’s demonstration and offer suggestions for improvement if needed.

Advanced Hypnotherapy is a course that focuses on metaphor, which is the language of the subconscious mind and students create a description and/or drawing in a symbolic or metaphorical way to show what negative thoughts or self sabotaging thoughts may look like, create inductions and visualizations, learn rapid induction techniques including metaphor for transformation which are practiced. Continued practice with metaphor interventions include the completion of a questionnaire to discover client’s anxieties, fears and phobias and each student is assigned a program to develop for group participation. You are observed and assessed by the instructor so you become even more professional and confident. Due to constant new material that the school introduces, assignments may vary.

The Advanced Course is an introduction to various models of hypnotherapy, techniques and inductions to provide the student with modalities that will add to his/her professionalism and expertise. It includes:

  • Metaphor in Hypnotherapy
  • Techniques for Transformation
  • Metaphor Intervention
  • Developing Support Groups

Class dates:  Mondays:  January 22 - March 25, 2024

Choice of morning class 10:00 am – 1:30 pm   or   Evening Class 6:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Advanced class meets 10 wks. For 3.5 hrs per wk. = 35 hrs.
Lab Hours (projects to be done off campus)            = 15 hrs.
(Lab assignments require 1.5+ hrs./week)    Total of 50 CEU Hours

Attend in-person or with Zoom.
PLEASE NOTE: This class will meet in the classroom with a maximum of 14 students  and simultaneously will be presented on-line through ZOOM until further notice.

Hypnotherapy Instructor
Owner and lead instructor for Palo Alto School of Hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapist, speaker, program developer, intuitive counselor, radio host, and developer of GEMT (Guided Empathy Meridian Tapping).
Dorthy is affiliated with UC San Diego School of Medicine's Centers for Integrative Health as a certified LIGHT Practitioner, mentor, and instructor for Academic Hypnotherapy/NLP Certification Course.

Isabela Delcourt

Spanish Hypnotherapy Instructor
Isabela has a private practice and has been teaching professional hypnotherapy in Spanish at the Palo Alto School of Hypnotherapy since 2009.  She is affiliated with UC San Diego School of Medicine's Centers for Integrative Health as a certified LIGHT Practitioner, mentor, and instructor for Academic Hypnotherapy/NLP Certification Course.

Arleen Patterson

NLP Instructor
Arleen is a Master Hypnotist and is the Neurolinguistic NLP Programming teacher for PASOH. She's also a HypnoBirthing Practitioner and Regression Hypnotherapy Specialist.
