Medical Hypnosis
(6-week, 40-hour certification course)
Course is approved by the National Board of Hypnoanesthesiology.
This course is offered to advanced students who have completed a minimum of 100 hours of hypnotherapy training. It is designed to give students experience with volunteers who have chronic pain and other health-related conditions. The School schedules a field trip to an agency or health center to provide students further professional experience. Successful completion of this course will qualify student for membership in the National Board of Hypnoanesthesiology. Through lectures, demonstrations, and videotapes, students will gain expertise in:
• Immediate and emergency care
• Pain control techniques
• Surgical anesthesia
• Cancer (therapeutic imagery for eliminating/reducing pain)
• Chemotherapy (managing side effects)
• Arthritis (controlling joint pain and increasing mobility)
• Headaches (current research and studies)
• Children and pain
• Dentistry (Hypnodontics)
• Natural childbirth (natural anesthesia for labor pains)
• Sport injuries (for professional athletes and weekend warriors)
• Mind-Body-Spirit connection for healing
